This page is dedicated to the memory of Dale Oliver, a wonderfully friendly, kind, and gifted man whose artwork depicting glider operations in World War II is on display in military museums in the United States and in Europe.

Reproduced with the permission of Dale Oliver, a talented artist who returned from his WWII Glider Pilot service to a career as an animator with Walt Disney® Studios.  Some of the productions on which Mr. Oliver worked are listed at the bottom of this page.

More on Dale Oliver

Following his service in WWII that included flying his glider into Normandy on D-Day, Mr. Oliver had a long and active career as a Disney® animator.  His artistic credits includes work on the following Disney® motion picture and television productions:

"The Fox and the Hound"    "Robin Hood"    "Peter Pan"    "Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too"

 "The Rescuers Down Under"    "101 Dalmatians"    "Sleeping Beauty"

Mr. Oliver also created original combat art featuring glider operations in WWII.  Some of this combat art is on display at the Silent Wings Museum in Lubbock, Texas, and in a special exhibit at the Wings of Liberation Museum, Sonseweg 39, 5681 BH Best, The Netherlands - Tel 0499-329722 - E-mail wingslib@tref.nl -Fax 0499-329930.
